Clearwater Lakes does not chemically treat lakes or ponds, and we do not claim that mechanical harvesting can prevent every future algae bloom or aquatic vegetation problem. Our approach is physical removal and responsible ongoing management. By harvesting unwanted aquatic vegetation and accumulated algae and physically removing that organic material from the water, we reduce the amount of biomass left behind to decay and recycle nutrients back into the aquatic environment. This can help improve water-quality conditions and reduce some of the conditions that contribute to excessive algae and unwanted aquatic plant growth. Combined with routine maintenance, early intervention, and responsible lake management, our goal is to help lakes and ponds remain cleaner, healthier, more usable, and more enjoyable - today and into the future.
Our Story
Clearwater Lakes grew out of a problem we were seeing - and hearing about - right here in our own community. Owner Jacob Castleberry grew up in the Hot Springs Village area and has watched the condition of local lakes change over the years, with unwanted aquatic vegetation, moss, and algae becoming an increasing concern in many areas. The need became even more apparent through Jacob's work in the boat-dock construction business. While building and working on docks around local lakes, homeowners repeatedly asked: "Can you do something about these weeds?" "Is there a way to get rid of this moss?" and "Can you help us with the algae around our dock?" Aquatic vegetation removal was not a service the company provided at the time. But as the requests continued and the problem became increasingly noticeable, it became clear there was a real need for a specialized solution. That led to the creation of Clearwater Lakes and an investment in specialized robotic aquatic harvesting equipment designed to mechanically cut, collect, and physically remove unwanted vegetation and organic material from the water. Today, Clearwater Lakes serves homeowners, private pond owners, golf courses, property associations, and other organizations throughout our service area. Our goal is not simply to make the water look better for a day, but to contribute to cleaner, healthier, more enjoyable water for the future.
Our Equipment
Clearwater Lakes utilizes specialized battery-powered robotic aquatic harvesters for a variety of environments. Our equipment can work efficiently in larger lake and waterfront areas while also allowing access to smaller or more sensitive locations, including private ponds and golf-course water features where minimizing disturbance and heavy equipment traffic is important. Our remote-controlled harvesting equipment mechanically cuts, collects, transports, and offloads unwanted aquatic vegetation. Manufacturer and model names do not need to be listed on the public website.

Because our process physically removes unwanted vegetation and accumulated organic material, improvement is often visible immediately as an area is harvested. Customers should also understand that aquatic vegetation is living vegetation. Just like landscaping on land, it can grow back and requires maintenance. The more consistently it is managed, the better the long-term results can be. Our crews treat each property with care and respect and take reasonable precautions to protect lawns, landscaping, docks, shorelines, and surrounding property.
Our Process
Shoreline Staging as vegetation is harvested, Clearwater Lakes transports and offloads the collected material at a designated shoreline staging area on the customer's property. Customers may retain the harvested vegetation for composting or other appropriate uses. If the customer would like the material removed from the property, hauling and disposal services are available for an additional charge. Standard harvesting removes vegetation from the water and stages it on shore; hauling it away is a separate service.
